Unique Australia
Australia is part of The Commonwealth and is in the Southern Hemisphere. It is also part of the Oceania region which is made up of thousands of islands in the Central and South Pacific Oceans. It is part of the seven continents, but is the smallest of them, as it is an island. Australia is part of the many islands in the Southern Hemisphere. It is neighboured by the countries of Indonesia, East Timor and Papua New Guinea. To the north of Australia, lies the countries; the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and New Caledonia. New Zealand is south-east of Australia.
Australia was formed when sea levels changed and tectonic activity isolated it from the other continents. This means it moved and collided into different sections or plates of the Earth's crust.
